EXPLORING LAYOUTS,
GUIDING CHOICES
As a flagship branch, the office area of this project needed to accommodate both work and reception functions. In the early design stage, the team explored multiple layout options based on the overall floor plan, aiming to separate circulation flows through zoning and pathway planning to provide different user groups with a comfortable spatial experience. Through frequent communication with the client, the team presented the strengths and weaknesses of each option, showcasing how circulation, views, and functional arrangements could be optimized—ultimately guiding and supporting the client in making decisions that best aligned with their expectations.
DESIGNING WITH TRANSPARENCY AND DAYLIGHT
This office project is located on the 20th floor of the Starry Hui Center in Hongkou District. Through the surrounding glass façade, one can take in unobstructed views of the Huangpu River and the iconic Lujiazui skyline. Maximizing these exceptional views and natural lighting conditions became one of the key design goals. The layout places open workspaces along the windows, while the deputy general manager’s office is positioned internally. A glass partition with a gradient film separates the two areas, ensuring privacy for focused work while preserving spatial transparency and abundant daylight.
ADAPTABLE MULTI-SCENE SPACES WITH HIGH UTILIZATION
Balancing openness and privacy was one of the key challenges of this project. Instead of traditional fixed partitions, the design employs sliding doors and movable wall systems, allowing meeting rooms and office areas to switch seamlessly between open and enclosed modes. This flexible approach adapts to diverse spatial needs while enhancing both efficiency and spatial quality.
HIGH-QUALITY CONSTRUCTION
During the construction phase, the design and construction teams worked in close collaboration, conducting multiple on-site inspections, material comparisons, and process optimizations to ensure every detail was executed with precision. The result is a built outcome that faithfully reflects the original design vision.
