“A headquarters that embodies both identity and efficiency”

FROM FACTORY OPTIMIZATION TO BRAND EXPRESSION

The project integrates two main components: the optimization of the existing factory master plan and the design of the brand’s headquarters office building. In the factory optimization phase, three key aspects—construction phasing, circulation separation, and production efficiency—played a crucial role in helping the client manage costs and ensure a rational, efficient development process.

The project’s core focus, however, lies in the design of the landmark headquarters building within the site. As the brand’s overseas headquarters, the façade adopts a wave-inspired form that echoes the industrial character of the factory complex, symbolizing the brand’s spirit of “riding the waves” and its leadership within the field. The design explores a balanced integration of symbolism, functionality, and technology, expressing both identity and innovation.

FACTORY MASTER PLAN OPTIMIZATION

In the early phase of the project, our primary task was to optimize the existing factory layout through systematic and multidimensional analysis. The goal was to provide professional support to the client in controlling costs and ensuring a rational development process, achieving a balance between practicality and economy. The optimization work focused on five key aspects: phased development planning, freight circulation design, office and reception flow organization, efficient production spaces, and architectural scale division.

THE DESIGN OF THE BUILDING

In terms of overall form, the building massing is elevated and articulated with vertically staggered atriums to enhance natural lighting and ventilation, creating a rich spatial hierarchy. The podium incorporates interior courtyards and rooftop gardens to improve the comfort of the office and reception areas. Meanwhile, the façade system and rooftop solar panels effectively reduce energy consumption and enhance the building’s adaptability to the local climate.

ENVIRONMENTAL DESIGN

The headquarters adopts a modular façade of horizontal and vertical elements, forming a “wind and wave” motif. This design creates dynamic light and shadow while providing effective shading, heat dissipation, and glare control. Concealed operable windows maintain façade integrity and reflect the company’s spirit of “sailing forward.”

In response to the limited industrial landscape, the design introduces inward green spaces—an interior courtyard and a rooftop garden—to bring nature into daily work life. The courtyard connects to public areas like the reception and cafeteria, while the shaded rooftop offers a pleasant outdoor space.

Vertically staggered atriums and skylights enhance natural light and ventilation, creating bright, comfortable, and energy-efficient workspaces that balance practicality and human warmth.
